Along with a new heaven, the apostle John also “saw a new earth”. The picture of Revelation 21 is the kingdom of God descending upon us. Physical, tastable, joyful. No more tears. This is the hope of Christ that keeps us going.

I saw a new heaven and a new earth
I saw a new heaven and a new earth
For the first heaven and the first earth
Had passed away and the sea was no more

I saw a new heaven and a new earth
I saw a new heaven and a new earth
For the first heaven and the first earth
Had passed away and the sea was no more

I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem
I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem
I saw it coming down out of heaven
From God prepared as a bride adorned

I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem
I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem
I saw it coming down out of heaven
From God prepared as a bride adorned

For her husband
For her husband

I heard a loud voice from the throne
I heard a loud voice from the throne
Saying, "Behold the dwelling place of God is with man
He will dwell with them"

I heard a loud voice from the throne
I heard a loud voice from the throne
Saying, "Behold the dwelling place of God is with man
He will dwell with them and they will be His people
His people
Oh, they will be His people
His people

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes
Wipe away every tear from their eyes
Wipe away every tear from their eyes
And death shall be no more

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes
Wipe away every tear from their eyes
Wipe away every tear from their eyes
And death shall be no more

Nor mourning
Nor crying
Nor pain anymore
The former things have passed away
Nor mourning
Nor crying
Nor pain anymore
The former things have passed away

I saw a new heaven and a new earth
I saw a new heaven and a new earth
For the first heaven and the first earth
Had passed away and the sea was no more
