Passage

Matthew 4:1-11

Sermon Summary

Jesus' temptation finishes Israel's old story and folds us into a new story.  Ironically, our desire to "clean up our act" often amounts to "needing Jesus less." Because Jesus succeeded against Satan's temptations, the pressure is off of us to always get it right. Our primary job is to stay tethered to him.
