The ‘How Much More’ Father

Passage
Sermon Summary
Jesus' conclusion to the central section of the Sermon on the Mount works like a "spirituality test." First it asks us "What do you see in Jesus' words?" Many see in them a challenge to "do better," but it is actually a warm reminder that God is waiting for you to ask! Second, it considers, "What do you say when you hear the word 'God'?" Jesus insists that we say, above all, "Father." This reality gives us a new sense of dignity and identity, it enables us to cope with life's mysteries, and it gives us security for all eternity.
