Before you go to bed at night, as you ponder your doubt or your response to how others treat you … lay silently, listening as he reminds you of his presence. If you must, plead for him to help you to trust him, for when you trust him fully, you will sleep in peace. Why? David answers this in his last line of the psalm - … for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. Because we trust the Lord alone. Not in our financial situation, or our health or family’s health, or in what is happening politically in our nation or world … we trust in the LORD because he alone makes us dwell in safety with him for all time. He steadfastly and faithfully loves us, he will not abandon us in our time of hardship, but will walk with s through it, providing joy and peace. Turn to him. Trust him. And He will give you a peace that passes all understanding to sleep well at night.
