Wounds From a Friend Can Be Trusted

Our real friends are those who have the courage to tell us the truth.  That’s what Peter does in his Pentecost sermon.  Through a series of outrageously offensive historical observations (three explored in this sermon – you killed him, God planned it and God raised him, two more saved for next week), Peter reveals to his audience of exiled Jews in Jerusalem that the only hope for them is to repent and believe in Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins.  Like them, we must be cut to the heart with what he proclaims.
