Advent Joy

There’s a lot of talk about Joy around Christmas season, but what is it, really, and where does it come from? The angel announced “good news of great joy” to the shepherds, and Isaiah told of the child who would multiply the joy of the people of God.

Advent Hope

For the second Sunday of the traditional Advent season (celebrating the “coming” of Christ), we looked at Matthew 12:15-21, which quotes Isaiah 42 and adds that “in his [Jesus'] name the Gentiles will have hope.” What kind of hope does Jesus bring? That’s the question this sermon tries to answer.
